Google Authentication and YouTube Data

Google User Data We Access

When you sign in to Tahu using your Google account (YouTube), we request permission through Google OAuth 2.0 only to verify that you own the YouTube channel you want to connect.

We do not request access to your private videos, modify your channel, or make any changes to your Google account.

We do not store your Google OAuth access token permanently; it is used only during your session to confirm your identity and is then discarded.

Public YouTube Channel Information

We use YouTube’s public Data API to access publicly available information about your channel, including:

  • Your YouTube channel ID
  • Your channel handle
  • A list of your public videos

This information is publicly available on YouTube and is stored as part of your Tahu creator profile. We use it to link your submitted videos to Tahu Recipes, ensure proper attribution, and manage revenue sharing or engagement insights.

How We Use Your Google Data

We use Google OAuth solely to:

  • Authenticate your identity and verify that you are the rightful owner of the YouTube channel you submit content for
  • Maintain secure login and session management

We do not use your Google account for any other purpose and do not access your private YouTube content.

Who We Share Your Google Data With

We do not share, sell, or transfer your Google OAuth data or your public YouTube channel data to any third parties.

Your channel information is used only within the Tahu platform for the purposes described above. Our internal team may access it only as needed to verify ownership, support creators, or manage platform features.

How We Protect Your Data

We take your privacy seriously and use industry-standard security practices to protect your data:

  • OAuth 2.0 secure authentication via Google
  • Encrypted storage of any session tokens and public channel information
  • Strict access controls to ensure only authorized personnel can view or manage creator data

We never store your Google account password or private content.

Retention and Deletion of Data

We retain your Tahu creator profile, which includes your public channel ID, handle, and list of public videos, for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy. We will retain and use the data to the extent necessary to comply with our legal obligations (for example, if we are required to retain your data to comply with applicable laws), resolve disputes, and enforce our legal agreements and policies.

You can request deletion of your stored profile information at any time by contacting [email protected].

  • Billing: You authorize us or our third-party payment processor to charge your payment method. All fees are non-refundable unless otherwise stated.
  • Free Trials: If your subscription begins with a free trial, you must cancel before the trial ends to avoid being charged.

Disclaimer of Warranties

Your use of the App is at your own risk. The App is provided on an “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” basis.

We expressly disclaim all warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We reserve the right, in our sole discretion, to terminate or suspend your account or access to the App at any time, without notice, for any reason, including but not limited to your violation of these Policies.
